Vietnam Museum of Ethnology



Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is located at Nguyen Van Huyen Street, Cau Giay District, about 8km from the city centre. This Museum is built as a research centre and as a public Museum. It is represent the ethnics group in Vietnam in terms of cultural itself. The mission of this Museum is scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation’s different ethnic groups. 

Vietnam has a multi-ethnic in the country. Consists of 54 ethnic groups. The government took this Museum as to preserve and present the cultural heritages of ethnic groups in Vietnam. This Museum has a huge collection of artefacts, which is 15000, 2190 slides, 42000 photographs, 237 audiotapes, 373 videotapes, and 25 CD-ROMs. Not only for visiting area, people or tourist also came to here for learning the details about the cultural of the ethnic at the Vietnam through this Museum. 

This Museum devided into two part, which are indoor and outdoor. Indoor side consists of the auditorium, exhibition building, office, library and many more. While outdoor side this Museum display the building of cultural houses of the ethnic at the Vietnam. Besides look at the architecture of the building, visitors also can experience themselves to join and take part on the activities provided here such as the water puppet show, the stone games and many more.
