Introduction
The National Museum was established since 1887 and known as
the oldest museum in Singapore. Originally built by Colonel Sir Henry Edward
McCallum as the former Raffles library and museum. In this museum has 10 National
Treasures, Singapore History and Living Galleries that show the history and
culture about the country. The museum is the one of a cultural and
architectural landmarks in Singapore . For your information, all the events and
festivals held in this museum for example the dynamic Night Festival, visually
arresting art installations, amazing performances and film screenings.
Photography & Filming
The museum are allowed visitors to take a photo for private
or non-commercial use. The utilization of a flash and tripod is prohibited.
Video filming is only allowed with authorization from the National Museum of
Singapore. A certain payments will be charged for bridal photography.

‘More than a Garden’ : An exhibition to share the heritage value of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status.
Beyond its lush greenery and resplendent orchids, the Singapore Botanic Gardens has a long history that reflects Singapore’s own journey of development.
The People's Collection - A Special Exhibition
A Special Exhibition is a collaboration between the National Museum of Singapore and MediaCorp Pte Ltd (Channel NewsAsia) following the telecast of the documentary series titled Treasure Hunt.
We: Defining Stories
We: Defining Stories presents a series of photo journalistic images of the iconic moments in Singapore’s post-war years from the 1950s till 2013.
All the exhibitions is free admission.
Gallery
A visitors can have an opportunity to visit many gallery rooms inside the National Museum Singapore such as Old Artifacts gallery that show us about family life of people in old Singapore like their wedding. Moreover, the gallery of Film and Wayang is played a Chinese film and what more interesting in this gallery is we can see the film in black and white. In Fashion gallery, we can see the different clothes of all ethnic group with variety textiles and fabrics. Besides that, in Food gallery show the history of local cuisine.

Going to the Museum
We are available to use the varieties of public transport to
access at the museum such as buses, MRT, taxi, motorcycle and car. There have
limited parking facility is available at the National Museum. Other parking
facilities are available at YMCA, Park Mall, Singapore Management University
and Fort Canning Park.
